So you’ve been exercising regularly, drinking your water and minding your business (GOALS) but your skin isn’t cooperating. Unfortunately, your skin can be a casualty of working out but fear not; we have you covered, so your skin can glow while you’re working on those glutes. The main thing to remember is to keep yourself hydrated as this will prove the most beneficial when it comes to taking care of your skin. Without further delay here are some simple steps to glowing skin while you work on your fitness
- Be Prepared: Have a small pouch with all your toiletries in your gym bag. My go to is always having a CBD bar of soap in my bag too. It’s great for my sensitive skin, and I love washing my face from sweat as soon as possible. Most gyms have a bathroom (if not
side eyethey should) so having the pouch near will allow you to start your skin care routine right away after your workout.
2. Cleanse: I have dry/sensitive skin and I’m pretty active during the days. I find that Cetaphil is nice and gentle for the days I have to wash more than once. Another choice for my is Earth Elements Gentle Face Cleanser. It’s so light on the skin and the scent from the lavender essential oil is super relaxing, especially after a hard workout. I’m so glad that I was able to find a product that was able to effectively help and treat my dry and sensitive skin. I found it at the right time too as my skin started to become flaky, red and it occasionally made me itch.
3. Tone: I’m going to be honest here. I only recently started toning. I know, I know but honestly I didn’t see it as necessary until my dermatologist drilled it into my head. Because of my sensitive and dry skin, I stay away from harsh toners that are filled with alcohol and might burn. That’s why the alcohol free Citrus Toning Mist from Earth Elements is a dream. At first I worried it was a bit too gentle ( I admit it I like to see the dirt come off on the cotton) but it did exactly what it said It would and retained moisture. This is very important as your skin loses moisture while you work out.
4. Moisturize: I recently got this Clinique product as a Christmas gift and have absolutely become hooked. As mentioned before, your skin loses moisture when you workout & it’s important that you replenish it to ensure you glow. Because I am prone to break outs I like moisturizers that are light. This one gives your skin a silky and refreshed feel and look and maintains moisture for most of the day. I got a travel size as a gift and plan to get the big girl size as soon as possible.
These are just some easy tips on how to maintain your post workout skin glow these tips can work for both men and women. It is important to remember that we all have different skin types and issues so always consult with a professional before drastically changing any routine.
