Quarantine & Chill Show List

Howdy Everyone,

With COVID19 being declared a pandemic it’s safe to say the whole world is feeling a certain amount of unease. We’ve been told several ways to minimize the spread, some of which are avoiding crowds, washing our hands and staying home. Sounds simple enough, until you reach the cabin fever part. No worries, I am here to the rescue with a list of shows that you may want to take in while you Quarantine and Chill.

Without further ado here are a list of shows that you can really sink into

Netflix

  • Peaky BlindersPeaky Blinders is a gangster family epic set in Birmingham, England, in 1919, several months after the end of the First World War in November 1918. The story centres on the Peaky Blinders gang and their ambitious and highly cunning boss Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy).
  • Criminal (UK, France, Germany, Spain) – Within the walls of an interrogation room and with time running out, London investigators go after three suspects
  • Spenser – When two Boston police officers are murdered, ex-cop Spenser teams up with his no-nonsense roommate, Hawk, to take down criminals.
  • Altered Carbon – Society has been transformed by new technology: consciousness can be digitized; human bodies are interchangeable; death is no longer permanent. Takeshi Kovacs is the lone surviving soldier in a group of elite interstellar warriors who were defeated in an uprising against the new world order.
  • Sex Education – A teenage virgin who lives with his sex therapist mother teams up with a smart and edgy high school classmate to start their own health clinic.
  • You – The riveting and hypnotic story of Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), an obsessive yet brilliant New Yorker, who exploits today’s technology to win the heart of Beck (Elizabeth Lail) amid the growing suspicions of her best friend Peach (Shay Mitchell). Joe transforms himself from stalker to boyfriend while doing whatever it takes to eliminate all obstacles standing in his way — even if it means murder.
  • Love Is Blind – Is love really blind? Hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey bring together single people looking to meet the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with… without ever seeing them.
  • Top Boy & Top Boy Summerhouse – This drama takes viewers into the housing estates of East London. There is tension between the drug gangs that operate almost openly and those who strive to live honest lives against the odds in the crime-riddled area. 
  • Mr. Selfridge – A British period drama television series about Harry Gordon Selfridge and his department store, Selfridge & Co, in London, set from 1908 to 1928.
  • High Seas – In the 40’s, the Bárbara de Braganza has just departed for Rio de Janeiro. All its passengers travel with a goal and with more than one mystery. And everyone will suffer the odd swell.
  • Bad Blood – This sprawling crime drama follows the true story of the Rizzuto family and its associates, who presided over organized crime in Montreal for decades.
  • Money Heist – Eight thieves take hostages and lock themselves in the Royal Mint of Spain as a criminal mastermind manipulates the police to carry out his plan.
  • Gomorrah – Hard-hitting, Italian crime drama directed by Matteo Garrone, based on the non-fiction book by Roberto Saviano, who was forced into hiding after the book’s publication. The film takes an unglamorous look at the extent to which the city of Naples is controlled by the Camorra mob, a network of families whose influence extends beyond the underground world of organised crime and into the everyday running of the city.
  • Ozark – The Byrdes, are for all intents and purposes an ordinary family. Ordinary save for Marty’s job: The top money launderer for the second largest drug cartel in Mexico.
  • Black MirrorBlack Mirror is a British science fiction anthology television series created by Charlie Brooker. It examines modern society, particularly with regard to the unanticipated consequences of new technologies.
  • Versailles – Set in France during the reign of Louis XIV, Versailles is a the riveting story of the “Sun King,” the building of his opulent palace, and all the sex, murder, and power plays that roiled his court. Watch the drama unfold as Versailles becomes a battleground for romantic intrigue, power grabs, and declarations of war.
  • The Spy – THE SPY, starring Sacha Baron Cohen, is inspired by the real-life story of former notorious Mossad agent, Eli Cohen, who successfully goes undercover in Syria and ultimately changed the course of Israel’s history.
  • Vikings – I love this show! With 6 seasons it’s absolutely binge worthy
  • Greenleaf – A family drama set against the backdrop of a sprawling Memphis mega-church.

Amazon

  • Outlander – Its about a married former World War II nurse who in 1946 finds herself transported back to Scotland in 1743. There she encounters the dashing Highland warrior Jamie Fraser and becomes embroiled in the Jacobite risings
  • The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel – ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ tells the story of Miriam “Midge” Maisel a woman who has everything she’s ever wanted—the perfect husband, two kids, and an elegant Upper West Side apartment. But her perfect life suddenly takes an unexpected turn and Midge discovers a previously unknown talent—one that changes her life forever.
  • The Man In The High Castle – The Man in the High Castle explores what it would be like if the Allied Powers had lost WWII, and Japan and Germany ruled the United States.
  • Treadstone – The Treadstone project, having created super spy Jason Bourne, turns its attention on a new protocol to develop unstoppable superhuman assassins.
  • Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan – Jack Ryan, an up-and-coming CIA analyst, is thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time. He soon uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication that launches him into the center of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale.
  • Carnival Row – Even in darkness, hope lives, as a human detective and a faerie rekindle a dangerous affair. Watch Carnival Row Season 1 this Labor Day weekend.

  • SEE – In the far future, a virus has decimated humankind. Those who survived emerged blind.
